A sweet aquatic friend, crafted to win over hearts.
The aim was to design a stylized, endearing fish avatar that could serve as a companion figure. We emphasized soft, rounded contours to signal approachability and cuteness at a glance.
The oversized eyes amplify emotion and contribute toward a profound sense of personality, as the tiny fins complement his little, lovable nature. To increase his expressiveness in animation, we added eyebrows — a simple yet effective feature that provides contrast and discernibility to his face movements, allowing him to express a great variety of emotion from awe to concern.

Freddy was designed while working as part of the Animaze team — and the design didn’t stay in-house. It found a second life as one of the avatars adopted by YouTube creators Doodle and Arkey, who have since grown into one of the platform’s breakout success stories, now reaching 2.5M+ subscribers and counting.
