Real-Time 3D Avatars for Emotional Intelligence Training
A full roster of real-time 3D avatars, created in Animaze for the Emotional Intelligence Institute to power experiential learning programs — where trainees practice reading emotion, adapting tone, and navigating human interaction with avatars that talk, react, and hold expression in real time.
Built for Experiential Learning
EII uses immersive, scenario-based training to teach skills that are hard to learn from a slide deck — reading a room, adjusting to a shift in tone, staying present under pressure. Real-time 3D avatars let trainees rehearse those moments with a face that reacts the way a person’s does: a raised eyebrow, a hesitant smile, a wince mid-sentence.
VertexFam built two full casts — Military and Civilian personas — so EII’s programs could cover a wide range of real-world training scenarios without being locked into a single character or setting.

The Roster
Twenty of the avatars are shown below — a selection from the full roster, not the complete cast. The library also includes additional personas in official flight suits and aviator Air Force uniforms, each rigged for real-time facial animation and a full range of expression, giving trainers and facilitators flexibility across scenario type, audience, and setting.
Real-Time, Not Pre-Rendered
Every avatar runs live in Animaze — trainers and facilitators can puppet a full range of facial expression and lip sync in real time during a session, not just play back a script. That’s what makes the training feel like an actual interaction instead of a video playing at the trainee.
