John
A surprisingly expressive character… with a flush of personality.
The aim for this avatar was to transform a common household item into something as fun as possible. The subject was a toilet bowl — not only because of its visual presence, but also because of the humor it provided (yes, “shit talk” as well).
One of the biggest challenges was combining 2D eye animation with a completely 3D rigged figure. Both systems had to be in perfect sync to produce readable, expressive animations. The end result is John — a character that’s surprisingly lively, technically complex, and ridiculously fun.
