There are multiple ways to integrate your avatar into OBS, games, livestreams, or virtual events — whether you’re gaming, presenting, or hosting an interactive session
Choose your preferred method below to get started:
Chroma Key (no subscription — simple green screen method that works in any OBS version)
Easiest setup – works with all versions of OBS
This classic green screen method removes the background color around your avatar using a filter.
Set a solid background color in Animaze
In Animaze → backgrounds → choose a flat, bright color as your background (green, blue, or magenta are best).
Avoid gradients or busy scenes — keep it clean.
Enable Virtual Camera in Animaze
Click Enable Virtual Camera (bottom center) in the Animaze app.
This allows OBS to see your avatar as a webcam source.
Open OBS and Add Video Capture Device
Create a new Scene
Add a Video Capture Device source
Select Animaze Virtual Camera
Apply the Chroma Key Filter
Right-click the video source → select Filters
Go to effect filters press “+” add a Chroma Key filter
Choose the background color you picked earlier
Adjust similarity and smoothness sliders until the background disappears cleanly
💡 Perfect for beginners — quick setup, no extra downloads, and works with the free version of Animaze.
Not as clean as transparency, but great for getting started!
Alpha Transparency using Spout2 (Best quality — shows only the avatar with no background. Requires OBS plugin & Animaze subscription.)
Cleanest method for advanced users
This is the best option if you want the highest quality and full transparency — no green screen, no blending issues.
Install OBS Spout2 Plugin
In Animaze app go to Settings – Dedicated Capture Window and click the Install Spout2 OBS Plugin option.
Follow the installation instructions.
Enable Dedicated Capture in Animaze
In Animaze → Settings → Advanced → turn ON Dedicated Capture Window (available only with Plus/Pro subscriptions).
This gives you a clean, transparent window just for your avatar.
Open OBS and Add Spout Source
In OBS:
Create a new Scene
Add new Spout2 Capture source
Select “Animaze Dedicated Window” from the list
You’ll now see your avatar on a fully transparent background.
Layer over gameplay, backgrounds, or anything
Since your avatar has no background, you can now place it wherever you want — on top of games, slides, or any media.
💡 Best for streamers or creators who want perfect integration and a clean output.
No green edges, no cropping needed — just plug and play with full control.
Alpha Transparency using OBS Game Capture (Good quality — captures just the avatar window. Easier setup but needs a subscription.)
Great balance of quality and simplicity (requires subscription)
This method uses OBS’s built-in Game Capture feature to get the avatar with a transparent background — no plugins needed.
Enable Dedicated Capture in Animaze
Go to Animaze → Settings → Advanced → activate Dedicated Capture Window.
This opens a separate, borderless window that only shows the avatar.
Open OBS and Add Game Capture
In Animaze → Settings → Dedicated Capture Window (available only with Plus/Pro subscriptions).
This gives you a clean, transparent window just for your avatar.
Open OBS and Add Spout Source
In OBS:
Create a new Scene
Add a Game Capture source
Choose “Capture specific window” and select “Animaze Dedicated Window”
Set “Allow Transparency” to ✅ Enabled
Match the resolution if needed
Arrange in your scene
You’ll now have the avatar with full transparency. Position it wherever you like: over gameplay, webcam frame, slides, etc.
💡 No extra installs, just OBS and Animaze — good middle ground between beginner and pro setup.
